Range Rover Sport Hybrid
Land Rover have announced their prototype Hybrid version of the famous high CO2 low mpg RRS range. It is one of the eco-friendly solutions that Land Rover are evaluating in a bid to be seen as green.
The Range_e features Jaguar and Land Rovers latest TDV6 Diesel engine which will be combined with an 8 speed Auto Gearbox seen in the new Range Rover TDV8. The Plug-in Diesel Hybrid system will enable customers to plug in to a household plug socket and will drop emissions to just 89g/km and still deliver speeds of up to 120mph. Although the range is limited to 20 miles on full hybrid mode, Land Rover bods claim that the car will have a total range of 690miles.
Testing began in late 2010 with a view to release an all new line-up of Hybrid models in 2013.
