Greenfleet Day

A few weeks ago several of our Account Management team (Ed, Mark & Terry) spent the day at the Green fleet test drive event held at Rockingham Motor Circuit.  The day gave manufacturers the opportunity to showcase their range of vehicles with green credentials and for us to have a try to see how they performed.

On show were the usual suspects like the Toyota Prius and Honda Insight both of which are surprisingly pleasant and relaxing to drive but joining them were the range of efficient diesel engines from manufactures such as Volkswagen, Seat, Citroen, Fiat, Hyundai and BMW.  The majority of manufactures currently seem to prefer to pursue this route at present rather than Hybrid technology and are able to implement this across a range of models.

We all managed to get the opportunity to drive the variety of vehicles on show and these diesel engines really do perform well; responsive, quiet and with low emissions and impressive fuel economy.  Don’t be fooled by thinking ‘green engines’ make a bland drive or a small engine will be underpowered, they really have tweaked the best from them.  The unanimous star of the day however was the new funky Citroen DS3 which can be individually styled and was great fun to drive.

Whilst being a good day out these events prove invaluable to our Account Managers, increasing their knowledge and experience and thus the ability to provide expert guidance to our customers.
