Porsche 918 Spyder Concept

The Porsche 918 Spyder was possibly the biggest surprise at the Geneva Motor Show this year. With hybrids and green cars becoming somewhat of an obsession in recent years high performance sports car manufacture Porsche have jumped on the band wagon. Not only with the 918 Spyder but the new Porsche Cayenne S Hybrid SUV and the 911 GT3 R Hybrid racing car was also on show.

The 918 Spyder uses plug-in hybrid electric motors on the front and rear axles, as well as a 500bhp V8 petrol engine. With acceleration of 62mph in under 3.2 seconds it is capable of speeds nigh on 200mph and it gets better... this ridiculously fast hybrid smashed the time set by the petrol Carrera GT around the famous Nurburgring circuit. Sports car maker Porsche displayed this stunning 918 Spyder concept model with 94mpg economy potential and emissions of just 70g/km.
