New Mini Countryman

After months of anticipation Mini has finally taken the wraps off its latest creation… the first ever four door, four-wheel drive Mini Countryman described by Mini as their new crossover for Mini lovers who want to start a family.

Mini’s new four-wheel drive system known as ALL4 combined with the Countryman’s 4m length provides the vehicle with the capability to handle difficult terrain changes. Not so mini anymore The Countryman looks like ,well, a slightly bigger Mini but engineers have done their best to maintain the go-kart style handling that has characterised Mini cars in the past.

All versions of the model will come with four seats as standard, although a bench rear seat will be optional providing room for five, with individually rear sliding seats allowing up to 1150litre capacity. There will be three petrol and two diesel engines available, the basic 1.6 litre diesel to the most powerful turbocharged 1.6 petrol engine pumping out 184bhp, with emissions starting from as little as 113g/km and only rising to around 150g/km for the top spec Cooper S. On top of the standard air conditioning and CD player buyers can opt for a wide array of extras from panoramic sunroof to 19” alloy wheels.

The Mini Countryman will go on sale in September prices are expected to start from around £17,000.
