New BMW 5-Series
The all new BMW 5 Series features an asymmetrically designed centre console, perfectly situated seven degrees towards the driver, so all the controls are in easy reach. The dashboard also uses Black Panel technology – this mean’s that while systems like the air conditioning are switched off, it looks like there is merely a gloss trim down the centre console. Turn them on and you’ll see all the information you need– one of the many of the features which BMW are hoping will put the 5 Series ahead of rivals in its class. The 5 Series is now packed full with standard equipment, all models come with leather, BMW Professional Radio, Bluetooth, Front and Rear parking distance control, automatic air conditioning and cruise control.
With the 520d you’ll also benefit from BMW’s Efficient Dynamics stop/start system as standard. The manual gearbox on the 5 Series is now a 6 speed and will get a gearshift light, to reduce emissions and increase miles per gallon. The new model is now smoother, sportier and more efficient and regenerative breaking has also become a standard option, this works by topping up the battery using kinetic energy generated from the brakes.
